What is Realtime Account Updater Status (RTAU)?

Realtime Account Updater Status is an optional feature in Adyen that automatically attempts to update your card details, if a payment is refused. The new card details are requested and fetched directly from your card issuer (e.g. Visa or Mastercard).

How is RTAU enabled?

To enable RTAU, an Adyen support ticket has to be raised, requesting for the feature to be enabled. You can also send them an email directly via support@adyen.com.

Note: Raising an adyen support ticket is, unlike other Payway-related inquiries, not done via our systems, but rather via Adyen themselves. You can click here to go to their support portal instead.

Additional data settings

Note: In order to get the card information updated in Payway, the following setting needs to be applied on all your Merchant accounts.

  • Log in to your Adyen Customer Area
  • Navigate to Developers > Additional data.
  • Under Payment, turn on [Realtime Account Updater Status]
  • Save the configuration
