File based activation¶
Availability
Currently available in the production environment
Overview¶
File based activation is suitable for organizations where the members have a lot of different patterns in their email-addresses. The organization that you have an agreement with to supply digital accounts and subscriptions then need to supply a datafile containing information about the active members in the organizations.
The activation process will then validate if the member's email-address is present in the file and will only create accounts and subscriptions for members that are active.
Deactivating members¶
Tulo Activation will synchronize members in Payway based on the active members in the datafile.
If a member is removed from the datafile, the subscription will be deactivated but the account will be kept in Payway.
Datafile¶
The datafile should have the following columns:
column | description |
---|---|
member email-address | |
reference | reference in the organization system |
first_name | first name |
last_name | last name |
The reference
column can be left empty, but can also be any type of reference for the member in the "other" system, it will be visible on the account as an "external id".
Access to datafile¶
The datafile needs to be accessible on an SFTP server. Possible methods for fetching the file:
- The Payway organization has an existing SFTP server where the "Company" can upload the datafile and made available for Tulo Activation
- The "Company" has an existing SFTP server where the datafile can be made available for Tulo Activation
- Tulo can help setup an SFTP account where the "Company" can upload the datafile
- An extra setup cost is associated with this scenario
